Day 6: Vigo
I started walking incredibly early that morning. Like I said in my previous post, the days were getting increasingly hotter. Everyone was talking about the deadly heat wave that was expected to hit around 2pm here on this day.
So I woke up at 5am and began walking by 5:30. Very scary stuff.
Now I’m not a morning person by any means but beginning each etapa early like that was starting to grow on me. This particular morning was particularly a slay. I was walking by myself through the rural campo for the majority of the morning. The sun was steady rising and the grounds were misty. As I’m walking, I come across two kittens!! They were nonstop playing and running around my legs. I legally had to stay and watch for at least a half an hour. After fulfilling my kitten contract, I kept walking. I started to notice what I thought were fleas jumping all over my legs as I was trying to walk. I stopped several times to smack them off and as I was doing so these two women, also pilgrims, stopped to ask if I was okay. I showed them all of the fleas literally jumping out from the inside of my boots.
